The shop tool

How our shop tool works with Etsy

Last revised 22 October 2026

Ella Home Concept has one small private application. It is connected to one Etsy shop, ellahomeconcept, through the Etsy Open API (v3), and the shop owner is the only person who uses it. It is not published, and it is not offered to other sellers.

The term 'Etsy' is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This Application uses Etsy's API, but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy.

What it helps us do

What it will never do

Permissions, one by one

PermissionWhat we use it for
shops_rRead the shop's name, sections and settings.
listings_rRead our listings, prices and stock levels.
listings_wCreate and update our listings, photos, tags, prices and quantities.
transactions_rRead our orders so we can pack and ship them.

Linking the shop, step by step

  1. The owner signs in to a private area of this site and ticks "I accept the app terms and privacy policy". We record the time and the terms version.
  2. The browser moves to Etsy, where the owner approves access. The Etsy password is never entered here.
  3. Etsy sends the browser back to https://ellahomeconcept.com/backoffice/etsy with a one-time code, using OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. The request is valid for ten minutes.
  4. We swap the code for an access token and a refresh token, and encrypt both with AES-256-GCM before saving them. The encryption key is kept as a separate secret.
  5. If the approving Etsy account is not the owner's, the tokens are thrown away.

Switching it off

Remove the app from the Etsy account's settings and access ends immediately. The private area also has a disconnect button that deletes our stored tokens.
